5. Data Retention
City inputs entered into the prediction tool are not stored beyond the active browser session. Server log data is retained for a standard period consistent with hosting infrastructure practices. Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months under default Google Analytics settings. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to the inquiry.
6. Cross-Border Data Transfer
Some third-party services used by snowdayprediction.ca process data outside of Canada. Vercel infrastructure operates across multiple regions including the United States. Google Analytics data is processed by Google on servers located in various countries. When data is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. snowdayprediction.ca takes reasonable steps to ensure third-party processors maintain appropriate data protection practices.
7. Children's Privacy
snowdayprediction.ca is a general-audience website. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The snow day prediction tool does not require any personal information to operate — only a city name is entered to generate a probability score.
8. External Links
snowdayprediction.ca contains links to external websites including school board websites, Environment Canada, and 511on.ca for road conditions. These external sites operate under their own privacy policies. snowdayprediction.ca is not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
9. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, individuals have the right to request access to personal information held about them and to request correction of inaccurate information. Given that snowdayprediction.ca does not collect personal information as part of the prediction tool, most users have no personal data stored by the site beyond standard server logs.
